Product details

The ILB24-AF is an Intelligent Line Break Controller housed in a durable SS316L enclosure, designed for use in Ex areas. It offers a straightforward solution for monitoring and shutting down pipelines in emergency situations.

The controller continuously monitors pipeline pressure and will automatically shut down the flow if abnormal pressure is detected.

The ILB24-AF is available in various enclosure types, all suitable for hazardous environments and certified with the necessary area approvals.

Design guide for using the AF model

The AF model is not designed to be wired directly it is designed to be connected to an Ex e or Ex d enclosure using certified bushings. See below how this can be done.

Ex e enclosure

The AF model and the Ex e terminal enclosure can be connected using line bushings.

Ex d enclosure

The AF model and the Ex d terminal enclosure can be connected using line bushings.

User interface

The local display control is available for the ILB24 model, granting full access to configure the controller and control the valve system. Furthermore, the ILB24 is equipped with various indicator LEDs that show the status of the system.

Graphical display and control buttons

The display is a four lined graphical display with backlight feature and adjustable contrast.

On the display you can see the status of the valve system, check position & pressure, start tests and perform diagnostics.

System LEDs

Indicators showing the overall system health.

  • Red: Indicates system error
  • Green: Indicates System OK

USB

The USB connection can be used to connect the ILB24 to a PC with ValConnect installed. ValConnect can be used to configure and control the ILB24 from the PC.

MTControl

When the ILB24-AF model is installed in a hazardous Area, opening the Exd enclosure is not allowed. The MT Pen can operate the ILB24-AF through the enclosure and the MT Control function locks Automatically after operation to ensure unattended use.

The MTControl eliminates the need to open the units Ex D enclosure to operate the push buttons. The magnetic sensors placed below the push buttons, will detect magnetic signals from the MTControl pen provided by Val Controls.
